What We Do
"Let food be your medicine, let medicine be your food."
- Hippocrates
Welcome to the Wellness Foundations Nutritional Analysis System.
Did you know that you need more than thirty basic vitamins, minerals, amino acids and macronutrients
every single day to maintain good health? The vital nutrient list was established by the United States
Department of Agriculture (USDA). It is called the DRI (Daily Recommended Intakes) list.
Whether you "eat healthy" or eat processed food or junk food or you are somewhere in between, chances
are you have no idea which DRI nutrients you receive or do not receive from the foods you eat.
When you first sign up on this site you are granted limited access as a Guest.
After becoming a Member of the Wellness Foundations Nutritional Analysis System you will have unlimited access to tools
that will guide you in making informed daily food choices that can improve your health.
On this site you can track individual DRI nutrients received from your actual food intake over a
continuously moving time period of up to ninety days. After entering your foods on the "My Intake" page,
you can go to the page labeled "My Trends" to see individual charts showing your DRI base line for
more than thirty nutrients according to your age, weight, and gender. Each chart shows your
intake compared to your base line for that nutrient. Next to each chart is a description of that nutrient
including its function in your body, food sources for it and information on deficiency and toxicity symptoms
as applicable.
For example, copper is one of the nutrients on the DRI list. On the "My Trends" page for Members the
listing for copper is as follows:
Copper is a component of many enzymes necessary for the production of energy and the formation of the hormone epinephrine, red blood cells, bone and connective tissue. It also triggers the release of iron to form hemoglobin. Hemoglobin transports oxygen around the body.Natural Sources: almonds, apples, barley, Brazil nuts, buckwheat, butter, carrots, coconut, corn oil, garlic, ginger root, green peas, hazelnuts, millet, molasses, olive oil, papaya, peanuts, pecans, rye grain, shellfish, split peas, sunflower oil, turnips, walnuts, whole wheat. Deficiency Symptoms: People with Celiac disease, Crohn's disease, and Cystic fibrosis may have a copper deficiency. Excessive ingestion of zinc can decrease the absorption of copper. Symptoms are bleeding under the skin, damage to blood vessels, enlarged heart and low levels of white blood cells, baldness, fatigue, inability to manufacture collagen, osteoporosis, retardation, slow growth, slow nervous system development. Toxicity Symptoms: Excess of copper, while rare, can damage kidneys and cause anemia by rupturing blood vessels.

Based on what you ate, your chart will show your copper intake trend and your DRI baseline. Remember that each
nutrient on the DRI list should be ingested daily for good health.
By reviewing all of your individual nutrient trend analysis charts, any deficiencies and excesses will be obvious.
With the descriptive information provided next to each chart you can gain an understanding of your current state of
health as it results from your food choices over time.
Armed with detailed information for each DRI nutrient, you can now refer to the Knowledge Base for information
that will allow you to experiment with different food choices to determine how you might improve your health.
In addition to describing the DRI nutrients, the Knowledge Base also includes detailed information on
more than a hundred other nutrients
important to your long-term good health.
When you log in as a Member you will have access to the "My Intake" and "My Trends" sections of the Nutritional
Analysis System.
Foods that you have eaten over the previous ninety days are entered on the "My Intake" page. There are detailed
instructions in the Help Desk section visible to Members showing how food information is entered to generate a
chart for each of the individual DRI nutrients.
After entering information on the foods consumed you can click the "My Trends" tab to see the individual
charted results for each DRI nutrient as received from your food entries for the time period covered.
The site includes a "Reading Room" section that shows you the books in our library. It includes covers,
publication information, and brief descriptive
information about the book. The books are categorized by key word. For example, if you wish to find books on food
intolerances you would click on Food Intolerances in the drop down box. You will then see images and information
about books on that subject. The "Reading Room" is fully searchable.
If you wish to purchase any of the books, you can get them from Amazon.com by clicking the link provided
on the page.
There is also an ever-expanding archive of informative articles on health-related topics available to Members.
Accessing the site with a free Guest account allows a visitor to view most of the site. Certain portions are
not available to Guests, for example, Guests can not enter their food intake. (And without food intake, charts are
not available.) Guests visiting the "Articles" section can see the titles and brief descriptions for any of the
articles, but are not able to read the full text of an article. Similarly, "Help Desk" topics that are specific
to Members are not visible to Guests.
Holistic Wellness Counselors
Throughout the site when we refer to a Holistic Wellness Counselor we're referring collectively to Wellness Coaches,
Health Coaches, Health Counselors, Holistic Health Counselors and any other health and wellness counselors.
We provide special services to Holistic Wellness Counselors. In addition to your access to the site for entering
your daily intake and tracking your personal DRI nutrient intakes over time, as a Holistic Wellness Counselor you
gain access to the dietary intake and DRI charts for your clients. This provides you the opportunity to have
more meaningful consultations with your clients because you'll be able to advise them specifically about their
nutritional intake and the benefits received from appropriate intakes and the adverse affects of deficiencies
or excesses.
Becoming a Counselor does not incur a premium fee. In fact, both you and your clients receive a discounted fee
structure because you provide the support for your clients directly without our involvement. You simply provide
us with a copy of your certification credentials via fax or e-mail. That's it. We then convert your account to
include Counselor status and issue you a Counselor ID that your clients use when enrolling.
When your clients enroll as Members they enter your Counselor ID and receive a discount on the Membership and
renewal fees. Additionally, your Membership is extended 60 days* for each
enrollment or rewewal at no charge.*
There is no limit to the number of clients enrolled with your Counselor ID and you get the free membership term
extension for each and every enrollment and renewal. The extensions run consecutively, extending your membership
indefinitely at no extra cost to you.
Your clients get full Membership with a discounted enrollment fee of $89.00.*
Their renewals are at the standard renewal rate of $89.00.*
* These values are current as of this time but may change in the future. We may attempt to provide you with
e-mailed notice of any changes, but please check the site for current information.
